Hey guys,
Sorry this took me so long, let's just say I have had a pretty intense summer so far. Well the first week of my project is going great. I decided to change my idea a little bit from doing a walk for breast cancer to actually having a car wash. I would like to do this somewhere around the end of August so I can advertise on orientation day. I wanted to do a walk at first but I knew that, that would take more than a few months of planning. I made a power point that shows the positive things in having this car wash, all the obstacles that will come and how I can face them, and also showing the people that will help me along the way. I really hope they like my idea and allow me to follow through with it. If they like this, I would like to have this at Kettering possibly, or perhaps somewhere that is more open. I know this process will take time, and I am still looking for people who would like to help, but supporting breast cancer research is very important to me. If I decide to do this somewhere other than Kettering than I will present them my power point and show them how they can be a part of it. Also, I am going to try and order some of those breast cancer bracelets and sell them throughout the car wash for $1. I think that that would be a cool way to represent breast cancer support. Breast Cancer, and Cancer alone has been a huge trauma in my family, and if I can't cure it then I will at least do what I can to help. I decided that a car wash would not really target one specific age group either. I mean lots of people have dirty cars and wouldn't mind a wash right? I work at Kroger if you didn't already know, and I see people come in all the time who are trying to sell bracelets, and t-shirts and whatever they can to get some donations. It has opened my eyes to how much just a little bit of money can help. I'm not expecting my car wash to make tons of money, but just a little will make my mind at ease. So I will let you guys know in a few days where I am having at, and if it is approved(: But keep in mind, I will need some people to help me wash cars so let me know if you would like to help!
